It is sometimes useful to borrow the methods of business and apply them in other settings. CFA is in the early stages of doing just that with our educational system. In this case, the “product” is successful graduation of a high school student. How can the system that produces that successful outcome – the high school graduate – be modified to increase the quantity of the desired product? It is just such an approach that CFA is exploring as one way to understand and describe the educational system experienced by a student and as a possible path to improvement of that system.
