CFA's Role

The Center for the Future of Arizona is partnering with schools, the State of Arizona and the National Center on Education and the Economy (NCEE) to facilitate system-wide transformation of Arizona's educational system through the Move On When Ready initiative.

CFA was instrumental in bringing the Move On When Ready concept to Arizona and building support for it. For more than one year, the center's representatives held informational sessions about Move On When Ready and board examination systems (one of its key components), identified interested schools and supported key legislation. Arizona was the first state to pass Move On When Ready legislation.

The Arizona State Board of Education selected the Center for the Future of Arizona to work directly with all Arizona schools interested in implementing Move On When Ready on their campuses. Among other duties, CFA will work through 2015 on a no-fee basis to provide technical support and general supervision over the board examination system that is a component of the Grand Canyon High School Diploma.

CFA serves as the state's liaison with the National Center on Education and the Economy (NCEE), which is leading the national board examination system effort.
