Lin Phillips

Administrative Assistant

Lin Phillips was born in Wisconsin and has lived in Arizona since 1957 when her parents moved their family to the West, looking for new opportunities. She was raised in Scottsdale, and later moved to Tempe where she graduated from McClintock High School in 1972. After earning her Associate Arts degree from Mesa Community College, she married and worked for several years as a medical assistant.

In 1983 she began her career at Arizona State University as a secretary in the College of Nursing. Later that year she accepted a position in the President’s Office and remained in that office continuously through the terms of four university presidents.

In 2002 when Dr. Lattie Coor retired from the presidency, Lin transferred from ASU’s Tempe campus to the ASU Downtown Center, to help Dr. Coor establish the Office of President Emeritus and to work as his assistant in the Center for the Future of Arizona.

Lin is married to Robbie Phillips, ASU alumnus ’77. They have two sons, Bryan and Danny.
