Application Process

For the 2018-2019 program, youth councils are to develop innovative solutions within the following Arizona Progress Meters. Each progress meter is tied to Arizona’s citizen agenda, goals derived from the Gallup Arizona Poll that reflect the deep beliefs and values of residents and provide meaningful insights for leading Arizona forward.

  • Education
  • Water & Open Space (Sustainability)
  • Health
  • Retaining Young Talent

Regular work of the DemocraSeed program, including in-depth training and facilitation by ASU Mentor Advisers, should occur at consistent youth council meetings throughout the year. Critical dates that should be held by youth councils for in-person programming for the 2018-2019 program include:

  • September 8th: Training Day I
  • January 19th: Training Day II
  • April: Final Showcase
  • May: Roadshow Presentations to City or Tribal Councils

Travel stipends may be awarded to selected youth councils on an as-needed basis.
