Senior Fellow

Steve Goldstein spent twenty-five years as a public radio host and reporter in Arizona before leaving the profession near the end of 2022. Goldstein was a driving force behind NPR member station KJZZ’s coverage of politics, elections, and public policy. As Host and Executive Producer of a national award-winning call-in talk show, Goldstein frequently engaged with Arizona’s political, business, and community leaders. His years as a journalist led to him having in-depth conversations with residents from nearly every corner of the state to learn more about their goals, accomplishments, and concerns. He also regularly contributed to the Valley’s PBS station as an analyst and fill-in host, in addition to serving as a debate panelist and co-moderator in multiple election cycles. Goldstein recently decided to further pursue his interest in public policy by joining the organization Save Democracy AZ, which is working to reform the state’s primary and general election systems. He has deep roots in Arizona, having called the state home since the age of four.
