School Participatory Budgeting:
Building on 10 Years of Impact
For the past decade, Center for the Future of Arizona and Arizona State University have supported schools statewide to help students learn democracy by doing — elevating student voice, leadership, and civic learning through School Participatory Budgeting (SPB).
Since 2016, SPB has reached over 100 school communities across 20+ districts, impacting thousands of Arizona students. Students have become active participants in their school communities, helping direct more than $1.4 million dollars toward hundreds of projects designed to strengthen their campus.
We invite you to celebrate this milestone and partner with us as we build and adapt this work to continue shaping the civic health and leadership Arizona needs for the future.
On Aug. 28, 2026, CFA and ASU hosted School Participatory Budgeting: Building on 10 Years of Impact, bringing together the SPB partners and supporters who have shaped and sustained this work.
