A New Resource to Support Local Journalism
Thank you for attending the Arizona Media Association and Local News Foundation Education Solutions Symposium. We’re glad you’re here and grateful for your role in informing and engaging communities across Arizona.
As Arizona’s journalists and newsroom leaders, you are essential to helping Arizonans understand the issues that shape our state’s future. Center for the Future of Arizona (CFA) is working to support your efforts through the development of the Arizona Media Institute, launching later this year.
This initiative is still in development, and it’s critical that it is built around your needs. This page is an opportunity to explore what’s in progress and help shape what comes next.
About the Arizona Media Institute
The Arizona Media Institute is being developed to provide meaningful, no-cost support to journalists, newsrooms, and thought leaders across the state. A key feature will be an online hub for easy access to regularly updated data, reporting resources, and subject matter experts on the issues Arizonans say matter most. These topics are grounded in public opinion research and intersect with many of the pressing topics you report on every day.
What to expect from the Arizona Media Institute:
- Nonpartisan public opinion research and data dashboards on key issues
- Facts that put issues into context
- Easy-to-search data to support fast deadlines
- Subject matter experts for interviews
- Issue-focused workshops and presentations created with Arizona media in mind
Topical areas the Arizona Media Institute will cover include, but are not limited to:
- Education (Pre-K to higher ed)
- Jobs, workforce, and the economy
- Water and the environment
- Civic engagement and public leadership
- Immigration
- Health and well-being
- Fair and equitable systems
- Housing, infrastructure, and cost of living
- State spending, tax priorities

To accompany CFA’s presentation at the Arizona Media Association and Local News Foundation’s Education Solutions Symposium on May 2, we created a custom data dashboard that allows you to go deeper into Arizona’s education landscape.
