Arizona Progress Meters Update: Education
In partnership with Education Forward Arizona, CFA recently released new data for six of the eight indicators in the Arizona Education Progress Meter, our state’s widely accepted framework for measuring and reporting on the educational outcomes of Arizona’s education system. The latest data show a mix of improved, declined, and sustained outcomes across the updated indicators since the previous data release and confirm that efforts to ensure excellence and equitable outcomes across the education system must continue and expand.

The latest update shows proficiency tests are slightly improved for Third-Grade Reading but remain flat for Eighth-Grade Math. The Arizona High School Graduation rate is declined somewhat, and Post-Secondary Attainment is slightly improved.

2023 Professional Fellowship for Southern Arizona Workforce Development Leaders Now Accepting Applications

We’re excited to share that CFA is offering the Workforce Leadership Academy once again, now for Southern Arizona. CFA was one of only six organizations in eight cities chosen by the Aspen Institute from across the country to deliver an Academy in 2023 in partnership with Pima Community College.

This application-based 10-month fellowship program is designed to support leaders in workforce development committed to advancing the local workforce system. The workforce development system is a set of organizations and activities that prepares people for employment, helps workers advance in their careers, and seeks to build a skilled workforce to support employers and their local economy. Strengthening workforce development contributes to creating a stronger and brighter future for Arizona.

The Southern Arizona Academy begins in March, and applications are due on Feb. 24.
