Co-Advising Framework Modules
The Co-Advising Framework provides a set of twenty student-centered career planning actions organized into five areas of shared advising responsibility that span grades 9–12
Each set of student actions includes corresponding opportunities for adult collaboration. Adults act as co-advisors who share responsibility for student success across systems as students complete their postsecondary education and career planning.
When secondary and postsecondary partners collaborate to co-advise students, the boundaries between high school and college begin to blur. Through opportunities like dual enrollment, students can more easily access, enroll in, and complete pathways to earn postsecondary credentials.
The framework offers a more precise way to measure student and adult engagement in the education and career planning process. It fosters increased collaboration across high school, community college, and industry systems, all centered on student success. This shared responsibility increases the likelihood that high school students will enter high-growth, high-demand, and high-wage career pathways—and achieve their education and career goals.
