Center for the Future of Arizona

  Dear Friend of CFA,

The last year has strengthened Center for the Future of Arizona’s (CFA) ability to inspire and mobilize our leaders and community into action. I am proud that CFA has continued to deliver on our mission to build common ground and bring Arizonans together to create a stronger and brighter future for our state.

As we reflect on the progress made on many fronts in 2022, we are also excited about what’s ahead for CFA in 2023. Your continued engagement is invaluable, and we would be honored if you would consider making a gift to CFA this year, connect with us on new opportunities you come across, or support our awareness efforts by following and sharing CFA social media posts and this newsletter with your networks.

With your collaboration, we will continue to bring Arizonans together and succeed in building The Arizona We Want.

Thank you for all that you do for Arizona and our communities.

Celebrating 2022 Highlights in Advancing the Priorities of Arizonans

CFA Holiday Party 2022 We are very proud to report that CFA furthered our statewide reach and capabilities by welcoming nine new colleagues this year, many of whom live and work in different parts of the state. Through the investment of our supporters, we’ve built additional capacity to sustain and continue growing our ambitions and impact in serving all Arizonans.

The Arizona Voter's Agenda Report Our most notable and actionable milestone was analyzing, releasing, and promoting the Arizona Voters’ Agenda to center the voices and priorities of Arizonans in the midterm election and future governance of our state. The Arizona Voters’ Agenda provided perceptive insights that bore out in much of the election outcomes. By amplifying the data-driven narrative showing Arizonans agree on much more than we disagree –through more than two billion impressions via press releases, media coverage, advertising, social media, presentations, and meetings– we countered the political narrative of division and, in the process, created space for positive change. This work is ongoing, and there is much more to do to continue this momentum and keep elected leaders accountable to the people in 2023, 2024, and beyond.

School Participatory Budgeting in Arizona The core building blocks of education, workforce, and civic engagement are central to any bright future for Arizona. These are critical areas to advancing economic prosperity, quality of life, and opportunity, and in which CFA contributes to achieving The Arizona We Want.

Gabe Zimmerman Public Service Awards Over this past year, we’ve partnered with education, nonprofit, business, and civic leaders to grow our impact across the state. CFA staff, partners, and supporters leveraged new opportunities and achieved positive results for Arizona, from advancing student-centered learning, exponentially increasing college and career readiness and opportunities for upward economic mobility for K-12 students, TAWWand expanding high-impact civic education in schools, to strengthening the leadership guiding workforce development, lifting up and championing the role of public servants, and empowering civic leaders to solve critical problems.

We look forward to celebrating CFA’s 20th Anniversary, continuing to build a better Arizona for us all with our partners across the state, and much more in 2023!
