Arizona Gives Day

Now Through April 4: Support CFA for Arizona Gives Day!

We invite you to join us in creating a stronger, brighter future for our state by investing in CFA for Arizona Gives Day.

CFA has focused on the greater good and what matters most to our community since our inception 20 years ago. Over the years, our dedication to advancing a positive agenda reflecting Arizonans’ top priorities continues to grow. Today, everything we do is to promote The Arizona We Want–a shared vision of success around what matters most to Arizonans– and to ensure our seven Shared Public Values are realized for all. We are deeply committed to:

Shining a light on who we are as Arizonans and how we can come together around what we agree is important for the state

Helping communities and leaders leverage data for dialogue, decision-making, and action

Addressing complex challenges in education, workforce, and civic engagement with innovative and collaborative solutions

Partnering on promising ideas and concepts that have the potential to benefit all Arizonans

Arizona Gives Day celebrates local generosity while raising awareness about the critical role our state's nonprofits play in our communities and economy. We celebrate on April 4, but you don’t have to wait - early giving is open now!

Stories of Impact

  Tucson Students Inform Community Action
Participatory budgeting success in schools is trickling up to the municipal level

Involvement inspires investment. Students at Tucson’s Sunnyside Unified School District (SUSD) can attest to that truth after learning how democracy works by taking part in CFA’s ongoing School Participatory Budgeting (SPB) initiative with the district.

“I didn’t know that we could participate in making a difference,” said an SUSD student involved in the SPB initiative. “I didn’t know how much power we could have.”

That power, as it turns out, can be measured in influence. At CFA, we understand that initiatives designed to create systems change — including those we lead to advance The Arizona We Want — often realize sustainable success through a valuable ripple effect.

In Tucson, the ripple effect of a three-year partnership between CFA and SUSD is now informing one of the city’s six representative and administrative subdivisions in implementing its own participatory budgeting initiative designed to actively engage constituents on spending decisions.

Arizona Progress Meter Update: Jobs

Arizonans want jobs that utilize their talents, build their future, and help our economy thrive.

CFA has updated the Arizona Jobs Progress Meter with recent data and to improve the accessibility of the information on Unemployment, Job Growth, Wages, Underemployment, and Labor Force Participation. New interactive charts enable comparisons across Arizona and the nation and each of our state’s municipal statistical areas and counties where data are available.

Using the Arizona Jobs Progress Meter is easier and more reliable than ever, with updates directly from the Bureau of Labor Statistics available as the numbers are released to the public. Pro tip: Try the new export feature, which allows data to be downloaded from the charts and used as needed.
