SPB Coordinator Roles & Responsibilities

The primary role of the SPB Coordinator is to serve as the liaison between SPB Advisors, SPB Sponsors, and school and district leaders. This person may be a district administrator, program coordinator or manager, academic coach, teacher, school administrator, or staff member. If you are piloting the SPB process in your classroom, at a single school, or within an organization, you might find helpful information in both the SPB Coordinator and SPB Sponsor resource hubs.

Additional SPB Coordinator responsibilities include:

  • Participate in training and professional development to learn all about the process, eventually preparing to lead training.
  • Recruit SPB Sponsors and garner buy-in with relevant stakeholders across the district.
  • Oversee the assembly of the steering committee of students and support SPB Sponsors through each phase.
  • Provide guidance on the approval process for projects and serve as a liaison between business & financial services for proposal development.
  • Assist with planning & hosting SPB Vote Days, with support from SPB Advisors and SPB Sponsors.
  • Participate in process evaluation, including gathering program data from SPB Sponsors and communicating relevant information to SPB Sponsors and Advisors.
  • Maintain frequent and consistent communication with SPB Sponsors and Advisors throughout the SPB process.
