SPB Sponsor:
All stakeholders who were involved in the SPB process monitor the implementation of projects, then celebrate and evaluate the process for the next cycle.
Monitor the Implementation of Projects
Work alongside SPB Coordinators, school and district leaders to implement the winning projects by the end of the academic year and submit requisitions and work orders immediately following the election results. Along with the steering committee, SPB Sponsors are responsible for submitting a requisition template/ form and approved winning project proposal form (from the proposal development phase) to start the purchasing process. The status of the order(s) can then be tracked by the district administrator. Once the order is received on campus, a work order must be submitted to the campus maintenance team for immediate implementation.
Share the Vote Results & Build Momentum on Campus
Compile SPB results to share with pertinent stakeholders in the district and broader school community. This is a great opportunity to get students excited about the upcoming SPB process and recruit new students to the steering committee for the following cycle. Ideas on how to share the results include:
- Announce the winning project at a large assembly or during advisory classes
- Coordinate a project unveiling ceremony
- Create posters, videos, and/or social media posts that summarize the main highlights of your school’s SPB process
Conduct Evaluation
In this final steering committee meeting, everyone involved reflects on the main accomplishments and main challenges to the process. Participants provide feedback that will determine the outcome to key planning questions and shape the process for the next SPB cycle.
Tips for Project Implementation & Evaluation:
- Build momentum between the Vote Day and Evaluation Celebration by keeping steering committees involved with the purchasing process.
- Encourage the students to think creatively about how to announce the winning project and possibly unveil the completed project.
